Chris DePizzo’s Statement on the Lordstown Distribution Center

Youngstown, OH – After consultation and review of the available facts, I am confident that the Government of the Village of Lordstown, led by Mayor Hill, and the Regional Chamber of Commerce have done their upmost to mitigate the disruption this vital project would cause to the residents of Lordstown and accordingly, I support the project moving forward and welcome TJX Companies to the area. As we sadly learned this week, the unemployed rate in Trumbull County is 8.4% – over twice the national average. Our Valley is in desperate need of this investment and these jobs. I commend the Village, its Mayor and the Chamber for the work they have done to attract this vital investment. Once approvals for this project have been granted, over $160 million dollars will be invested and 1,000 jobs created – with a total biweekly gross pay of over $600,000. While taking a stand may not always be easy, I am certain it is what the voters deserve. This is where I stand; encourage you and the media to ask where my opponent stands.
